Getting Into Business

So now that I have photography clients that are actually paying for my services I figure I should probably stop putting their Cd's in a Ziploc bag (I'm a little embarrassed to admit that) and maybe get something a little nicer and something I could use to spread the word of my business out. So lately I have been brain storming ideas for Cd cases and business cards. I pretty much have the idea I want to use in my head, but since I just  discovered the lovely pinterest site I thought I would browse for ideas and came across this...
I think it is so cute and clever. I would totally hire them to fix up my lawn. :)
I can't wait to get started!! Keep you posted.

I'm a little obsessed with pinterest

I love pinterest if you are not a member you have to join. My plan today was to check my email and look at new friends blog posts then go and clean my messy house, but I finally got my lovely pinterest invite in my inbox and have been pinning away ever since. Reasons I'm in love 1. I already had a million folders on my computer of home decor ideas, clothes I liked, etc, but now they are so much more organized and don't bog down my computer  2. When I need an idea for a certain room in my house I usually start googling first and always have to sift through so much crap to get to the cute pictures and ideas. Sometime I even put in home decor ideas + blogger in hopes that it will automatically feed out the not so in style stuff, but pinterest I have yet to have to sift through the junk to get to the goods. I'm in love!! I am in love with these Italy pictures....
I had never seen them before and they are a million times more amazing than any Italy picture I have found on google. :)

I love you Spring!!

People always ask me why I didn't really like Arizona and I think it is mainly cause I missed the seasons so much. I love snow, but only for a couple months and I love the summer heat but can't handle for more then half the year. About this time of year is when you are thinking ugh it s going to get sooo hot. I love now that we are on our normal schedule where spring brings excitement not thought of the awful summer that is about to approach. I'm so happy things are warming up, getting my sandals out and getting excited to have picnics and go for walks, bike rides, take more pictures outside. My friend Meghan introduced me to Garnet Hill and I am in love. I want to buy everything!! It is all so springy and fun. You should take a look you'll fall in love too.

Art of Watercoloring

My beautiful work of art I made with Linds in San Diego. Probably the easiest thing I could have painted, thought it was a good start and I love it. Hopefully it will get framed and go up on our wall soon.

I am now in love with watercolors. Linds and I had so much fun painting. It was so relaxing. . I think I need to start up painting on a regular basis.  I want to make a bunch of cards for when birthdays and such come up and painting some of them would be so fun. My friend Lindsey is great at water coloring. I think she needs to sell stuff on Etsy look here and here at her paintings.
Oh I almost forgot. I discovered that people paint on photographs. Lindsey has this gorgeous picture of Veince, Italy that someone took and they painted over it to enhance some of the picture and added clouds. I wish I could remember who the artist was and I would show you the picture, but wouldn't that be so fun. I could combine my love of photography and water coloring :). Sounds perfect.

Bicycle Baby Shower

My neighbor Annie and I threw a baby shower for our good friend Meghan last Saturday and had lots of fun. We did kind of a bicycle themed shower. If you didn't see the invite look here. If you are throwing a shower I'm sure you already know, but it can get expensive fast, but I'm proud to say we did pretty good. The key is borrowing things and searching around your house for stuff you can use.
Recognize the fabric? Scraps from my first quilt.
Also awhile back in this post I made these flowers for my shirt. Well as I was searching my house for ideas I came across my flower so I made four more and grabbed some sticks in my front yard and made a bouquet.
We didn't want to do the games cause we felt those are kind of boring and no fun and since it was an open house wouldn't have worked out that great so we just had people write advice on these little onesies. I got this idea from this blog. My favorite piece of advice was "scream in the closet." :)
Another awesome idea I discovered. Just walking around in stores I kind of get ideas. I went to Orson Gygi and saw a table runner that kind of looked like a scarf, more money than I wanted to spend so I looked through my closet and found the scarf you see on the table and it worked perfectly.
Congratulations Meghan can't wait to meet your cute little boy!!!

YAY for working computers!!

Sadly I'm kind of lost with out a computer especially when I have some of my clients pictures to edit and I was having anxiety attacks that I lost some of them. Luckily they were retrievable.  I'm happy to say though that we bought a new computer last night and it make me so happy!!! Greg and I were jumping up and down with excitement.
I can't post without a picture so here is Linds showing you how we felt last night.
We are blessed to have an amazing computer smart brother in law so luckily we are going to be able to save all our pictures. All I have to say during this experience is buy a external hard drive that is about 1TB (1000 GB)  and back up your entire computer on a regular basic.

"We just might be the luckiest people"

We got back from San Diego last Tuesday night and we were so sad to have to leave. But we had an amazing time and feel so blessed we were able to take some time off and party with our friends! There were several times where we were all crying from laughing so hard.
prepare for photo overload
Thursday we started the drive after work and I was so proud of myself that I stayed up for like six hours entertaining Greg so he wouldn't fall asleep. Normally I only last an hour or two. We were singing almost the entire time which helped and I entertained myself by taking pictures...
Then we stopped at In & Out to recharge. I absolutely love In & Out I don't know what it is but I think if I wasn't worried about dying from obesity I would eat there everyday.
We were an hour or two away from San Diego and thought we better stop. So we pulled, what is now called, a Greg & Kayla :) and slept in our car for a few hours.
We arrived early Friday morning and although it has almost been two years since we had seen them last it was love at first sight!
We walked on the beach and enjoyed a huge scoop of ice cream...

Found our future beach house for when we are rich...

At night we went to H&M Which was one of the best parts. Not only did I buy a blazer, two shirts and a pair of jeans all under $80 buckaroos but I had Lindsey as a shopping partner. I love my hubby but nothing compares to shopping with a girl. It was ah-maz-ing! To end the already great night we went to extraordinary desserts. If you live in San Diego and haven't been there you have to go.
The atmosphere alone is so fun. I got the strawberry shortcake and I wish I hadn't eaten all day so I could have enjoyed this more cause I got full pretty fast.
Saturday we watched BYU kick some San Diego butt, ate delicious tacos for lunch...
Lindsey and I painted with watercolors, which was so fun. I think I might just have to go buy some of my own. I painted a little something for our wall. I'll have to take a picture and show you soon. Lindsey is a professional though you'll have to look at her blog and see the cute things she has painted.
Sunday we went to Mexico and ate tacos again and just enjoyed walking around. And Monday we went to DISNEYLAND!!

It was such a great vacation and greatly needed. I wish we could just rewind time again and again and again.
