Leaving for the Golden State

Tonight we are leaving for San Diego and I'm ecstatic!!! I'm so glad this day has finally arrived. I'm so excited to enjoy the warmer weather. Visiting great friends. Staying up all night catching up on girl talk. Sinking my toes in the sand. Getting some fun pictures. Riding tandem on the boardwalk. Disneyland. Mexico. Shopping at H&M. Singing at the top of our lungs on our ten hour drive. And most of all being able to relax and have fun with my baby. :)
Hope you have a great weekend!!

Baby Shower Invite

I finished the invites!! It took me what seemed like forever for me to decide what I was going to do. With enough Internet surfing from  here here and here  I was able to conjure up this....
They are not as cute as they were in my head :)...isn't that how it always works....but Meghan likes them so that's all the matters.
Supplies:
Kraft Paper
Bicycle Stamp
Ink
Fabric
Iron on Transfer Paper
Iron
Corner Rounder

They were fairly quick, cheap, and easy to make. The only difficulty I had was getting the "It's a boy!" to be mirrored so that when transferring it onto the flag it would be correct. Just a little tip you can mirror text on photoshop, but I didn't know how so I just googled a mirrored text generator and there are quite a few of them, but only one of them did it the correct way. If you are interested in doing something that needs mirrored text let me know and I'll try and find the site again.

My First Quilt

It has been a while since I have blogged. I have a lot of things I have wanted to share but never find the time or energy. So sorry I have been boring lately. I always felt like when I wasn't in school I would get bored but I have so many projects on my list. More get added before they are removed. I'm happy though to be busy. Speaking of being busy..I finally finished my first quilt!! I started it in August :). It was meant for Christmas, but I kind of under estimated the amount of time it takes to get it quilted ( the fancy stitch you see on it that binds the two layers together).  I probably didn't start at a beginner level, but luckily I had my mother in law who is great at quilting and she helped me a ton!! She was so sweet, even though she secretly had her doubts about me making this blanket for my first she said "yeah you can do it" :). I couldn't have done it without her lets just say that.  I have to say I'm pretty proud of it. But on a sad note I think I'm going to need to take a quilting break for a while. I'm kind of pooped out. And I came to a conclusion that quilting doesn't really take much talent it's more about having patience and taking the time. So if you are thinking about getting into it just keep that in mind :) If I can do it anyone can.
While I was taking pictures of my sister with her new blanket my other sister was feeling left out so I had her show off her violin skills.

Gathering Ideas

I'm throwing my first baby shower in March and I can hardly wait. I need  to get invitations made and out soon so I have been gathering ideas and I would love do this if it didn't cost a ton which I have a feeling it would. I saw it here. Maybe I could make a smaller version. Does anyone know any good sites for ideas?

Almost 30

I'm married to an old man ;) An old one, but a very handsome one.
Yesterday was Greg's birthday. All weekend we have been enjoying celebrating.
He is the love of my life and I'm so glad I married him. He is such a hard worker, a faithful priesthood holder, so forgiving I could go on forever.  He always says to me "I just want whatever is going to make you happy."  I'm truly blessed to have him in my life and have the privilege of being his eternal companion.
Love you, Happy Birthday babe!!!!

wedding gowns + anthropologie

I just saw this beauty in my inbox...
Anthropologie is coming out with a new line of clothing "BHLDN is a wedding brand born of the anthropologie aesthetic." I wish I could get married again and buy one of the gowns. I'm sure they are going to be gorgeous. I am already in love just seeing the edge of the fondant tea dress and those gloves. I loved our wedding but ever so often I dream of doing it all over again and doing it differently. Picking different colors, a different dress maybe a shorter one...
bring in more of a vintage feel,  maybe have Greg wear a khaki suit....
Its fun to dream.

I need I need I want I want

We almost bought a puppy last year, but Greg said you can either buy a camera or we can buy a puppy. I decided to buy my camera first cause you need a camera to take pictures of a cute puppy :). Since then I randomly beg Greg for a puppy, but we both agree it would be mean to leave it home all day while we are at work. To solve that problem I quickly offered to stay home and take care of it. :) haha of course that would never happen but it was worth a shot. Well recently he put the picture of the puppy we almost bought as the background of his phone and he can't stop whining about  how he wants a puppy so bad. :) hehehe. So me thinking I would surprise him for his birthday, which is Saturday, with a new puppy shortly went down the drain when the closest puppy was in California.  Now reasoning is clicking in and we (Greg) are thinking we should wait. Boo I need a cute puppy to cuddle and play with.
So how do I drive to California and come back in time without Greg noticing :) I could surprise him for Valentines day. He couldn't deny it once I brought it home.
