Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year!!

If you didn't get a christmas card in the mail it is not because we don't love you!!
We had lots of fun making these cards. My favorite part was the envelopes they were "grocery bag" envelopes. My goal every year is to make treats for our neighbors and send out Christmas cards. Last year I made treats and no card..this year I made cards and no treats. Hopefully next Christmas I can get them both done. :)
p.s greg wrote the christmas letter :) I had to clarify because I didn't want people thinking I didn't think he "really didn't do anything exciting" :)
Hope you all had a Merry Christmas and Hope you have a Happy New Year!!!

Snowed In

So it has been a while since I have blogged. Recently I haven't felt up to blogging. With Christmas and all the wonderful things that went along with it, all I felt like when I wasn't doing Christmasie stuff was to cuddle with my hubby on the couch and drink hot chocolate. So as a result I have so many pictures to post. Today we are stuck in the house because of all the snow and it is glorious!!! Time to catch up.
Greg is working from home.....
And I couldn't get my car even down the street so as a result get to stay home too!!! :) It has been wonderful I have gotten so much stuff done. Cleaned our house, took down our Christmas decorations, posted things on craigslist, laundry, trying to convince Greg to stop working and come outside to build a snowman with me, but its not working, taken lots of pictures ( I feel like I don't pick up my camera enough) once I stop blogging I'm going to start decorating our house!! We have been living here for four months and I still haven't hung any pictures. It's looking a little bare now without the tree. And hopefully soon I will give you a tour of our housie.
Question: What color is my background on your computer?
It is suppose to be pea green but for some reason on other computers it looks yellow :(

Thanksgiving In Florida

We left this exciting, freezing, cold weather....
(driving on the freeway to sandy the night before our flight)
to spend thanksgiving in 80 degree Florida weather....
ahh it was glorious.
(walking on the beach thanksgiving morning)
Our flight did end up getting cancelled, but everything turned out more than perfect. Some how we ended up getting to Georgia earlier then originally planned. We arrived at my moms cute new house*....
She loves Christmas don't judge ;) Shortly after arriving to my moms we headed to St. Augustine Florida, where I graduated from High School.
Thanksgiving day was yummy and so fun. Along with the holiday we celebrated my Costa Rica dad's 56th birthday :)...
We did a lot of laying around, shopping, eating tons and tons of junk, playing with our fat cats, watching movies...etc. I wish I had taken more pictures, but I was soaking in my family time. I don't know how I live so far away from them all year long. I guess we need to start popping out babies and then maybe they will come visit more often :).
Hope you enjoyed your Thanksgiving!!

It was freezing, but it was well worth the pictures.

DIY Tree Ornament

I saw this cute yarn ornament at Joann's and thought it would go perfectly with our Christmas decor, so me trying to save money and be crafty :) I decided to make four for the same price instead of buying one. It was super easy. Here are the supplies...
I glued the first part of the string to the styrofoam ball and just wrapped it around randomly and glued the end piece on the top.  If you slightly loosen one of the pieces of string on the top that becomes your way to hang it on the tree.
Yay for Christmas!! So you are probably thinking it is not even Thanksgiving yet why have we already put our tree up :). Well I just couldn't wait any longer. Not only did we not decorate last year and so we need to make up for it :) , but I'm just ready for it all.... the christmas music, presents, stockings, lights, wreaths, ribbon, wrapping paper, christmas cards, snow.... doesn't it just make you giddy thinking of it all?
While we were decorating we had lots of fun pulling out all our old ornaments.  My sister, Lauren gave this one to me last year and I had forgotten about it...its my favorite. On the wings it says best sister :) miss that girl.

Bountiful Baskets

A few people in our ward purchase bountiful baskets every Saturday and so when we heard how much everyone else loved them we decided to sign up and we are in love. It is so fun. If you aren't in Utah I'm almost positive they sell them in other states so you should check it out.You get different types of local fruits and vegetables every time and it is such a great deal.
There are some things we have never even seen before, like these....Fuyus
We had to google what they were and how to eat them. We just ate them like apples but you can also cook them. They were yummy,  similar to an apple. I'm so excited to search for new recipes and try new things I have never tried before. I hope it helps us eat healthier!!

On The Search For Fabric

I finished the table!! I was originally going to sand the chairs and table but it makes me nervous I'm going to ruin something and have to redo it so for now they are staying how they are. I'm just looking for different fabric for the chairs and my year long project will finally be done :) yay

Creating a Plan

I love brick walls... I think this room is gorgeous and I'm making plans to make our bedroom have a brick wall. I think it is possible. :)
What do you think? Do you think it would look bad, weird?

P.S Thanks for all the advice on the yellow skirts I'm looking out for some cute shirts/ cardigans.

What Should I Wear With These....

I have had both of these skirts for almost a year now and I have never worn them. I have tried wearing a black shirt with the solid yellow one, but Greg told me I looked like a bumble bee.So I turn to you for some tips.
 Any suggestions??

Roomie Get Together

Saturday my roommates from college and their hubbies all came over to celebrate Amy's birthday and carve pumpkins. We had lots of fun.It had been a while since we had seen each other and I had forgotten how much fun we always had.
We of course had to cook the pumpkin seeds... that is tradition, they are super yummy just put them on a cookie sheet  or a broiler pan is the best because it has a little edge. Add a little olive oil and lots of salt and bake at 250 for an hour.
And as if we didn't have enough treaties already we made caramel apples. They didn't turn out super pretty, but they were fun to make. By the time they were all hard all the candy on them had slid to the bottom :). If you know a better way to make them I would love to know.

Tutorial On Using Our Water Dispenser

Anybody who visits our house needs to take a minute and study this tutorial :). Everyone even myself has spilled water on the floor while attempting to get water out of our fridge for the first time so we thought we would give a little lesson on how to use our water dispenser. .....

We hope you visit soon!!
